Insurance
Coverage on NicheShift
Insurance is not currently sold through NicheShift.
We're finalizing an insurance partner. Until that partnership is live, the platform does not add a policy to bookings and we don't collect a premium at checkout.
What this means for renters
You're responsible for any damages or claims arising from your use of the space. If your business already carries commercial general liability insurance, that policy typically extends to short-term rentals — talk to your broker if you're not sure. If you don't carry coverage and your host requires it, you'll need to arrange a short-term policy on your own before the booking.
What this means for hosts
You're free to require proof of coverage as a condition of accepting a booking. The license agreement attached to every booking establishes the legal relationship between you and the renter; what it doesn't do is replace insurance. Talk to your own broker about how short-term rentals fit into your existing policy.
What NicheShift does enforce today
- Identity verification on host accounts (via Stripe Connect).
- A signed license agreement on every booking.
- Cancellation and refund policy on every listing.
- A dispute process for damage and no-show claims.
